I had a business bank account with Union Bank in California which I really liked but they just merged with US Bank. Looks like they are forcing me to change ALL of my credit card, debit card, account numbers etc which means I have to change all the auto payments, wire transfer info to the big dealers who buy from me, the merchant account account info, etc.
I’m not happy that this will cost me several hours of my time so I’m thinking of switching banks.
The business Is medium sized and has been around for 18 years. Any thoughts on a good bank? I’m thinking of looking at Chase since I do so much with travel hacking. I will never do business with Bank of America or Wells Fargo.
Thanks for any input!May 9, 2023 at 6:46 pm #81994Dave
If you switch banks, you’re going to have to re-establish/ re-link all of your accounts anyway — you might as well stick with US Bank since you’ll at least have access to all of the previous Union Bank branches/ATMs (which I assume were at least somewhat convenient for you since you choose them in the first place.)May 9, 2023 at 6:46 pm #81995Amy
Is there a credit union in your area which caters to businesses? There is where I am
I always prefer credit union because of the business model. They are owned by their members and exist to serve members. Less incentive for shenanigans and more incentive more good service. Nothing is perfect of course
Banks are owned by wall a street and exist to make money for shareholders off of customers. Most of the motivation is for shenanigans and feesMay 9, 2023 at 6:47 pm #81996Victoria
Credit Union. We love BECU. Some CUs also allow your small business to advertise to other small businesses in the bank network.
