I don’t really have any friends who are interested in finance so I’m going to tell a bunch of strangers about my exciting day purchasing VTSAX.
I’ve been a lurker here for a while, learning as much as I can about FIRE.
The reading suggestions have been very helpful. I just finished JL Collins book and watched the FIRE documentary on Amazon. One of my biggest concerns was trying to time the market.
Yep, I gulped at today’s price, but didn’t let it deter me.
This is a big deal because I used to feel like I wasn’t smart enough to understand the market.
Now I feel like I have a decent foundation, but don’t quiz me quite yet! Thanks for everyone who has provided answers to other people’s questions. There is so much knowledge here.
It might seem like someone isn’t reading your posts, but someone is
ScottRemember, you may see a dip in value for short term periods. Over time you’ll average 10% so as fun as days like today are.
It’s important not to worry about down days. Always look at down days as good days to buy.
MoniqueCongratulations! Today’s price won’t matter in 5 years. Just keep buying. Be glutinous lol And welcome to the fold!
