For example, my financial situation is really unpredictable at the moment. So a bought gift for my mom for Mother’s Day was out of the question. So I whipped up this macrame fruit hammock for her to hang in her kitchen, in her kitchen colors, as I had these colors from making her Christmas gifts.

This year, my daughter and her husband took me to a gig where my son and his band was playing. It was very cool having both families (4 grandchildren) together, we had something to eat and the moms all got a free glass of wine.

This wasn’t to save money but because I thought my mom would love it and she did. My rose bushes had just started to bloom and we’re so full.

So, after the homemade seafood brunch my husband cooked for both of us on Mother’s Day, I picked out a red vase from the ones I saved from past bouquets I received over the years, and she smiled as she watched me cut red roses from the garden to fill it for her to take home.

She’s a Red Hatter so loved it that there was so much red! Didn’t cost a thing. Well the seafood brunch… 🙂

(Forgot to take a picture of the bouquet though!)

Embroidered on two aprons as a wedding gift. These are Dicky brand aprons and very nice. They were so reasonable on Amazon when purchased. This makes 4 of the 6 I have used for a wedding gift. She loves horses, he does the cooking and she cleans afters. So matching aprons.

Made these angel wings out of cardboard for my daughter’s place.
She saw a pair of wooden ones at a retail store and I decided to give it a try.

I was out of town for Mother’s Day. When I got back I was walking through a store and saw a mug that said “bonus mom” filled with candy and a balloon for $3! I honestly wasn’t planning on getting my step mom anything cause I’d spent so much already (my son’s birthday was the day after Mother’s Day) but she loved it so I’m glad it caught my eye!
