Looking for some recommendations. I’ll have some money coming to us after the sale of my mom’s house (she passed away).
Maybe $50K. We already max out both our Roths, max my 401K, contribute about $6K/yr to a brokerage acct, and have a years worth of salary in savings.
We have about $200K remaining our two houses, but have 2.35% interest rates.
Any recommendations on where to invest this additional money?
Thnx!
MindiPersonally I would have kept mom’s house and rented it. Otherwise buy rental property.
TomI’ll echo a taxable brokerage account. Start stacking up a pile of S&P500 or Total Market Index Funds, year after year.
As a retired gray haired guy I can say you’ll be wearing a smile come retirement time.
BenDo you have access to a roth 401k or non deductible 401k contributions?
RobertI’m sorry for your loss 2.35% on a mortgage is basically free money. Dump that 50k in a taxable brokerage account; find a fund that mimics the S&P 500, and forget about it for the next 30-35-40 years.
You’ll thank me at that time.
