Answer

All praise is due to Allah and peace be upon the prophet of Allah;

Destiny is ordained by Allah (Glory be to Him) who already knows all occurrences without the restrictions of time. It’s one of the five articles of faith. The prophet (peace be upon him) said: “A slave (of Allah) shall not believe until he believes in Al-Qadar, its good and its bad, such that he knows that what struck him would have missed him, and that what missed him wouldn’t have struck him“. Jami At-Tirmidhi

We advise you to do the following:

Talk to your wife about how Allah’s (Glory be to Him) knowledge encompasses everything around us. There’s nothing hidden from Him. Allah says in the Glorious Quran: ” There is no Najwa (secret counsel) of three, but He is their fourth (with His Knowledge, while He Himself is over the Throne, over the seventh heaven), nor of five but He is their sixth (with His Knowledge), not of less than that or more, but He is with them (with His Knowledge) wheresoever they may be; And afterwards on the Day of Resurrection, He will inform them of what they did. Verily, Allah is the All-Knower of everything.” (58:7)

Talk to her about the wisdom of Allah (Glory be to Him) and that nothing happens haphazardly. It’s all meant to be. Allah says in the Glorious Qur’an: ” Verily, all things have We created in proportion and measure.” (54:49). Allah’s wisdom ordains that graces and inflicts vary among people as they vary in language, race, gender, poverty, richness, health and disease. Allah says in Quran: ” Allah has bestowed His gifts of sustenance more freely on some of you than on others; those more favoured are not going to throw back their gifts to those whom their right hands possess, so as to be equal in that respect. Will they then deny the favours of Allah?” (16: 71)

Allah (Glory be to Him) does not deal unjustly with human beings; each one is judged upon his deeds. Allah (Glory be to Him) says in the Glorious Qur’an:” Verily Allah will not deal unjustly with man in aught: it is man that wrongs his own soul” (10: 44).

Guide her to learn from the various destinies of people; thus, she should thank Allah for the graces bestowed upon you which is not bestowed upon others. It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Whoever unexpectedly comes across a person suffering a calamity, and says: Al-hamdu Lillahil-ladhi ‘afani mim-mabtalaka bihi, wa faddalani ‘ala kathirin mimman khalaqa tafdila (Praise is to Allah Who has kept me safe from that which has afflicted you and preferred me over many of those whom He has created), will be kept safe from that calamity, no matter what it is”.
