The importance of Ramadan

Ramadan isn’t only about fasting and preventing yourself from eating and drinking, it is about how to improve yourself on the religious and moral level, it is how to draw closer to Allah by praying and reading the holy Qur’an and doing charity works as much as you can, it is all about how to increase your charity works to get the blessings from Allah and to achieve his satisfaction, Ramadan is your way to the paradise in your life and the hereafter.

Does everyone have to fast?

Actually, Fasting is fourth of the five pillars of Islam, and it was obligated to all able- bodies Muslims and Allah exempts young children, breast-feeding mothers, women who are menstruating and those who have health conditions or chronic diseases.

Ramadan wishes and greetings

There is great number of wishes and greeting that you can use to greet and congratulate your friends and relatives or the passer-by with Ramadan, the best expressions you can use are:

  • Ramadan Mubarak which means Blessed Ramadan or happy Ramadan or May Ramadan bring us blessings, and it is considered the most common one the Muslims used in their greetings during the holy month.
  • Ramadan Kareem which means generous Ramadan or free-handed Ramadan, it is about wishing people rewards and gifts from this month, and so many said that it isn’t preferable to use this expressions as it carries the dangerous implication that Ramadan itself is capable of being free-handed to us but in fact Allah is the one who gives us the blessings and gifts.
  • May this holy Ramadan be the start of your happiness, May this bring you joy and prosperity.
