1k emergency fund, so you never go further into debt, keep 4 walls going and then everything else goes to debt.

          0. write a budget and stop using credit cards.
          1. you are making minimum payments on debt while you squeeze extra dollars for the starter emergency fund until you have $1,000 (or $500 if you are a student living at home).
          2. list debts smallest to largest and throw every “extra” dollar at the smallest debt until paid in full (all other debts stay at the minimum pyt due).

Make minimum payments on debts & build your $1,000 emergency fund. Then start attacking those debts with a vengeance. You can do it!

No. The steps work when you work them. If you’re following your proposed mindset you and all of us would have never gotten into debt we couldn’t pay back. Yes 1k feels uncomfortable but it’s supposed to temporary and for you to clean up debt FAST.
