But I have a question I am hoping someone can answer.
My husband passed away 18 months ago, and my 5 children get social security survivor benefits.
Do I count that money as part of my income?
I know it is supposed to be used to help feed, clothe, and house my children.
I just don’t know how it it fits in with my budget and working to pay of my $27,000 in student loans.
Thank you!
AubreyYes. If they are minors, this money is part of your household income.
SheilaIt is household income to feed, shelter, clothe, and improve the finances of the family so that widows and children are not left in poverty.
KaraIt does count as income in the baby steps. And you apply it to whichever baby step you are on.
MichelleYes it is all part of your household uncome. You will be using it to support your children. Very sorry for your loss.
KaraI would count it as income same as if you hadmd your husband’s paycheck. I’m sorry for your loss.
