I know I can buy reusable pads but (at least for now) I really enjoy the convenience of just throwing away the used wet pad, and the dry pads seem to be cheaper. My Swiffer doesn’t have the slots in the the top that you can “tuck in” different brands of pads.

I’ve used the dry pads with a WestJet. The only real difference is the dry pads don’t have any “scrubby” quality to them, and the wet pads do have a bit more abrasion because of the netting on them.

You can if it is a model that has the slots of tucking. I’ve used dish rags or microfiber wrapped around or even fluffy socks.

The attachment is different, Velcro on the wet pads, The dry wraps around and tucks in. Wet can hold more moisture. Otherwise no reason why you shouldn’t.

I actually use a cloth wrapped around the swiffer mop part instead of the disposable ones.
