Does anyone have any suggestions on how to remove all this stuff that is stuck to the back of my fuzzy blanket?

The front is still perfect and soft, but the back has a bunch of little bits of random stuff stuck to it. Washing it has not helped. I love this blanket and don’t want to throw it out, so any suggestions to help fix it are welcome. Right now I can’t stand to touch it because it feels disgusting!

The pictures don’t do it justice. I think somehow wood chips have gotten stuck to it because some of it is hard and pokey.

They make these battery operated lint removers that shave off the little balls. I use it regularly on stuff like this. I’ve had mine for years and it works great. Here’s an example of what they look like. I bought mine at Walmart years ago for less than $5.

Called many names– lint remover, fabric pilling remover, etc.

Use duct tape and ‘pull’ off the debris!

Masking tape wrapped around your hand, sticky side out.

If none of these other suggestions don’t work, try putting on a pair of rubber gloves and brush sigh your hand. It works for removing pet hair off of furniture really well.

Use an old hair brush to loosen and vacuum as you go. (or sit outside so you can brush away) This works for stuck on pilling.

                  Fabric shaver.

One bit of caution with a fabric shaver though, it will be fine with your blanket. But, the lanyard I wear at work sometimes causes pilling on my tops and on thinner fabrics, I have to be careful with the fabric shaver because it can leave small holes when it shaves off the bigger pills.

I know this doesn’t help. But if you get blankets and sweaters with fabric like that. Don’t put them in the washing machine with other items. That will make it much worse or make it happen. The fabric shaver may be the only way to go after it’s happened.

                    Sometimes that doesn’t even work.

Lint roller meant for pet hair. It’s a little bit stronger than a regular lint roller. Or a flea comb.
