Hi there, I need some advice. My washing machine stinks like old socks and all my clothes are smelling as well now. Done 2 hottest washes, put Distilled vineger in and still smells.

Emptied filter the drawer is clean and so is down inside. It’s 16 years old but apart from that is still working as it should.

What can I do, does it need replacing?

It’s bacteria and you need more than vinegar to clean it. Clean the rubber and drawer. Do a COLD bleach wash followed by a HOT soap wash.

Hi, I always do 90C washing with white vinegar and bicarbonate of soda I buy vinegar from the Polish shop, it is stronger.

I put 2 dishwasher tablets in mine one a a week and run it on a 90, I also no longer put anything in the drawer , all into the drum.

I’ve changed back to powder after the pods were making my machine stink, no more stink with the powder, I regularly wipe the seal on the door too x
