I was in a car accident 4yrs ago. My head was banged, concussion, whiplash, however I had a history of migraines and the concussion symptoms lasted MONTHS due to this. The doctor told me, “if you have a history of migraines a concussion takes a lot longer to heal”. I was hospitalized multiple times, and in the end had to insist on an MRI after 9 months of extremely bad symptoms.

Not only that but my pup to be trained as a service dog was in the vehicle and now is afraid of cars, I was practically bedridden for months after resulting in her not being well socialized and developing very, very bad separation anxiety. The issue is that I was recovering from MI when the accident occurred after serving long term abuse.

The concussion and it’s after affects caused the loss of my coping skills and hobbies and my symptoms relapsed- costing me years of progress. So: service animal unable to function as a service animal. Depression worsened extremely. Car (appearing to only have a small amount of damage was left undrivable and totally by the insurance company).

My lawyer never seemed to give an F, and unfortunately I was pretty severely concussed when I signed for his services. He never returned calls even when he says he will, couldn’t even get the medical records without me having to deliver them, and regularly got my info wrong or doesn’t undate my files.

When Covid  hit he LOST my case, it disappeared for 2 years and only resumed after endless calls and e-mails. His explanation, “ur case just somehow got lost in the system”- no other explaination. 4 years.

A ruined car, a dog who can’t be left alone, strain on my relationship and having to dig out of depression all over again.

Finally deposition has been done and it’s been made clear to me that because I am a disabled person with a history of abuse/related concussions, that opposing console intents to use my history of migraines against me rather than refer to my doctors statements that the migraines made the concussion far worse.

And it seems clear that my lawyer just wants to sweep the case off his desk take his 33% and go.

Any money received goes to my savings and I’m concerned my lawyer doesn’t remotely care about the settlement beyond what fast cash he might get.

I know whatever they offer me he’ll say I should take and be done with it, I’m feeling defeated and pretty totally screwed and not at all sure what I should do to better the compensation towards my very real pain and suffering when my lawyer won’t.

Hello! I just wanted to add some solutions for the concussion. I just had one and it is a nasty problem that indeed takes a lot of time to heal.

However, in my country I figure out that doctors are not of a lot of help. What gets me through are physiotherapy and another specialized branch of physiotherapy. Some of those are specialized in concussion and only treat that.

You should check it out and good luck!

Fire your attorney, also your car insurance company should have their own attorney to help with this. Talk to them.

Consult with another attorney, you can fire your current at any time and change. The same goes for your lawyer as well, they can at any time let you go as a client.

Or focus your energy elsewhere on building an online business whenever you feel energized. Become an inspiration despite all your disabilities and what happened to you. Don’t depend on those who don’t care. But focus on your abilities. You will still have them. Making money through the attorney can give you a bit rest, but clearly it doesn’t.

I’m so sorry you are going through this. It’s new lawyer time. If you are worried about getting out of your contract with your old lawyer, I’m sure new lawyer will show you were not in any condition to sign for his services.

                Good luck!!!
