I think average account age is a low % factor like 10% of your score but if you can keep it open for yourself that’d be probably the best outcome. His credit score will bounce back within 6 months. Though very likely less. I removed myself off of 2 of my ex’ cards and it took about 3 months for my credit score to catch up.
