I have a question for you fine informed folks, Here’s my situation: I’m 65 I’ll have $100,000 to invest in something that Id like to receive almost immediate returns around age (67, 68) I have no clue which direction is best, I would love to know your thoughts of expertise.
Thank you
FrankWe can’t really answer this. What else do you have and how do you plan to live?
And where is this coming from and why wasn’t it invested in the past? An inheritance?
MarkHYSA, CD or even consider immediate annuity, if wanting something outside the box.
StaceyHard money lender for real estate 12-18%. Secured by the property.
RickI guess an immediate negative return is still an immediate return. So really any investment would do. I am mostly kidding outside of pointing out that is really what is possible with anything outside of extremely conservative investments.
Ironically these same extremely conservative investments are the ones that come with the most certain downsides. Savings accounts are for sure going to lose out to inflation.
Annuities add 100% mortality risk on day 1.
Don’t miss: Is Bitcoin a reliable long-term investment for accruing interest? Tax implications and risk assessment?
CathyEither a HYSA or lock in at a higher interest rate in with a CD knowing you can’t touch it for so long.
