      Saving about $120/month by switching.

This is also a reminder to have a new quote run with your current car insurance company.

They don’t automatically search for the best prices for you and don’t rerun your information as often as they should! We have progressive, received a notice in January that our monthly payment would be increasing significantly despite us having no accidents, no tickets, etc.

Ran a new quote online, and ended up with more coverage for $120/month for 2018 Flex and 2014 F150!

I Pay $360 for 2 full coverage in Texas with Allstate. I’m dying… state farm is more expensive. Any suggestions to reliable insurance?

They want that per month for me! Idk if it’s my age or what! I’m 25 — I have no at fault accidents either.

I work in insurance and almost everyone is having rate increases right now. I would not tell MY customers this- but It really does pay to shop around.

Just make sure you use a company that will actually take care of you if you have a claim. All companies are definitely not that same when it comes to claims satisfaction.

You don’t want to save $20 a mo to for it to cost you thousands if you have a claim.

Don’t miss: I just received GEICO car insurance bill and it’s 18.60% higher than before

This is your reminder to use an independent agent that can run multiple quotes as well! It cost you nothing to use an agent as the companies are who pays the agent when you sign with them.

                  Also.

Don’t skimp on coverage also. Only having state required minimums is a huge liability on your end. Shop around and get adequate coverage for great rates.

But don’t switch too often because that affects your insurance score- similar to a credit score it’s used to determine risks and costs and so much more.’

Be careful though, some companies will give you a good deal to get you to switch to them and at your 6 month renewal or 12 month renewal, (depending on which state you live in) they will jack your price up. I work in insurance and we see it all the time.

Sounds like many of you don’t really know your coverage limits. If you say I have full coverage then you don’t really know what you have.

Make sure you know your bodily injury liability limits.

If you don’t have enough coverage and you have an accident you are going to owe money possibly for years.

There is nothing wrong with comparing insurance and looking to get a lower rate but please check the coverage amounts. Of course you’ll get a lower rate if you get quoted the state minimum‘s, than you would quoted 100/300 /100 or higher.

Go find an insurance agent with the heart of a teacher.

We have been with USAA for years and a coworker mentioned their premium and it made me curious so I checked ours. INSANE! Immediately started comparing, switched to progressive, got the same/comparable coverage, and pay half what we were with USAA.

I need to do this. My 20 year old just got his first car and only recently got his license.

Our rate went up $150 a month before he got his car (and was just insured on our cars) and went up another $150 to add his car.

                          I need to shop around!

I tried shopping around numerous times and can’t find nothing cheaper than Allstate.. I have 2 young drivers on mine and 6 cars.

I keep using agency’s to have them shop around and gets me no where. 1 place even said 45k for a yr.

It’s ridiculous. And on the other side of things they r a pain in the butt to file claims and fix cars (I deal with them for my job on that side of it) and put the cheapest crap parts on vehicles.. it’s crazy.

Don’t forget to take a look at: Today I paid off my car! I am so happy

We just did this too!! Switched from USAA and state farm. Saving over $100 per month on my auto insurance even with adding a new driver and $200 per year on homeowners.

use all price comparison sites, as well as those that are not on the sites to give a complete outlook.

Also the way you describe your job/employment can change the quote in the UK; i.e. an administrator is deemed more stable than an admin assistant even though both do the same job.

It is worth playing about with the sites; as long as you do not fully blown fib saying your a top surgeon but you work with topiary, you will be okay x

I’ve been told that because my husband and I haven’t had an accident the entire time we’ve been with progressive (almost a decade) we are considered a “higher risk” because according to then we’re “due” for a serious accident and they want to make sure they’re covered if that happens.

Our payment went up every 6 months for 2 years despite no accidents. We were officially told it was because “the cost of insuring motorist in Ohio has gone up so everyone is being charged more”.

My sister added her husband, who has DUIs, to her policy and it went down. My coworker has 6 vehicles and only paid double what I paid and I only have 2 cars. Another coworker has the same policy and coverage and 2 newer cars and was paying less.

Finally switched to state farm and saved $80/month!
