I need some frugal meal ideas for a family of four (two adults, two kids- 5 & 7), the thing is we have a dairy and peanut allergy in our family and often times I make two separate meals to accommodate everyone. we have another baby on the way and I really want to tighten up our grocery budget before baby’s arrival and serve meals all four of us can eat. I just need some ideas that’s not spaghetti or tacos.

Also I have heard about coupon apps and apps where you scan your recipes for rewards/cash? I have never used them before and would love to be pointed in the right direction. anything helps at this point!

Burrito bowls! Rice, black beans, corn, salsa add meat if you want!

Cr@ck slaw, It’s mainly cabbage and beef stir fried.

Extend meat with lentils, chickpeas or mushrooms.

Sheet pan dinners with all your fave veggies (broccoli, tiny potatoes, peppers, Brussels) and protein of your choice

        Breakfast for dinner.

        Homemade KFC bowls.

        Chili.

        Chicken egg or tuna salad.

Lots of cheap filling foods (potato, cabbage, rice, pasta, oatmeal, chickpeas).

And I use fetch to scan receipts! They give lots of bonus points. I’m already at almost 50k points which is roughly equivalent to $50. Also use Ibotta which I’ve cashed out over $100 and I don’t even remember to use them every time. They are both receipt scanning apps.

I use Fetch mainly. Ibotta for select items (they do mostly name brand) I’ve gotten at least $40 worth of Amazon gift cards from Fetch.

I’ve also heard Upside is good because you can also do gas receipts.

I use fetch app. I scan all receipts, Amazon orders, Walmart delivery orders. I save all points to end of year, and I am to get bunch of gift cards I use towards Amazon, foot locker & bath and body works. (they have others places too).

Bean and cheese burritos seasoned with taco seasoning. Canned or homemade beans, a package of taco seasoning and cheese or cheese substitute or skip it. Roll into tortillas. Add meat if you’re feeling fancy.

Sign up for WIC if in the USA. Helps a lot even when pregnant.
