I am working on growing an Instagram right now for hiking outdoor moms and am at 8k followers..I feel like it’s a dumb dream to think this can start bringing in income..but I also know there are people doing it. So, if anyone does anything like this or knows someone Please share stories of success:)

Out of interest, how many followers or views does one need to make a viable income? I’ve always put this in the not viable basket as I assume it needs to be ridiculously high to compete with the rest of the “internet”.

Do you mean extra money? If so, that is the very last thing you should focus on. Your only goal should be creating awesome, helpful, intriguing content which naturally brings viewers. Only after you have many, many thousands of viewers should you attempt to monitize. Also, you should never be on just 1 media source. If you make a insta post you should simultaneously be shooting pics and vids for Facebook, your blog, your YouTube Chanel, etc. You want as much exposure as possible always. Quality content and constant posts.

There are thousands of hours of “how to” videos on YouTube. Just like anything worth doing, the hard part is up front (which is a good thing as it kills your lazy would-be competitors) and after you succeed…that’s when the money rolls in.

P.s. get that “dumb dream” bull$hit out of your head. Either go get it or don’t try.

I haven’t but it’s not from lack of trying! I only have 272 followers on TikTok but some of my videos reached 29 thousand. I make pennies if I’m having a good upload.
So, following because I’m obviously need tips too.

Not making money yet but hopefully soon. Doing hotel tour videos on YouTube, need 1000 subscribers and 4000 hours of watch time in the last 365 days to become monetized, now at 908 subscribers but average only 25 subscribers a month, so hopefully before the end of the year since we’ve been getting the watch hours pretty consistently since 6 months and just need subscribers.

I am working on this too, although I will be selling in person and online courses eventually so it’s not just through influencer marketing. I do have a couple friends in the dirt biking world who’ve managed to make a good side hustle out of it tho. Also, it’s not always about the amount of followers, there are folks I follow selling various services/products who only have 5-10k followers but make 6 figure incomes. So, it really depends what you’re doing! Def possible tho.
