      My mom managed to get mildew or mold growing in hers.

      Bleach? Or should I toss that out and buy her a new one?

        Vinegar, dawn dish soap and baking soda mixed with water. Spray and scrub!

          If you have the money to be safe I would buy a new one. It’s really not worth risking her health if you can afford it. Of not certainly cleaning it would work.

            You can take it apart and clean it with vinegar.
