.. They send you a beacon device to put in your auto that checks your mileage. If you don’t drive much then your insurance is lowered.

Doesn’t hurt to check with all your providers.

Had the Safe and Save from State Farm. Only drive 100 miles a month. Great driving record. Insurance renewal went from 99 monthly to 129.00 monthly. And that’s just for liability. Senior citizen on SS. Crooks!

        All insurance companies.

It doesn’t track just mileage, but every trip you take, every move you make, it’s always watching you.

No thank you! Jeeze aren’t there enough things tracking you? So now we have to be penalized because we won’t consent to being surveilled by the insurance company. One can’t go anywhere without being on a camera.

              I have State Farm also.

WOW! I love all the comments and info. My company has never mentioned such a device but, if they do, then I think I’ll pass. I never use my phone when driving (not even Google maps like many of my friends do) but I sure don’t want someone monitoring my driving.

In my area when freeway traffic is low enough for all the traffic to NOT be going considerably under the speed limit then, if you’re driving AT the speed limit, you’re holding up that lane of traffic.

Even in the right ‘slow lane’.

                  All companies do this.
They will dock you even if you brake too hard.

I would consider that a purchase of your privacy by State Farm. Several insurance companies offer this, but it’s where we have drawn a line. Also, how do they obtain that mileage? Is there other data they collect, such as driving habits, heavy use of brakes, speeds?

It’s a personal decision, of course, but something to consider.
