I currently have an MBA in HR but it has been hard to get my foot in door in hr. I currently make less than $50k a year but I am tired I really need financial freedom and I would like to make 6 figures and above. I have been trying to find an existing business to buy that can cost $100k which I have saved over the years but I haven’t found one yet and I have been looking for years.

I would also like to start flipping houses but haven’t been successful yet in finding a house to flip.

Now am thinking about getting a cdl and going back to school for nursing although my passion was just to run a successful business. Any advise will be highly appreciated.

Don’t go to nursing for money, it’s a very stressful career and if passion is not there you will be miserable. Focus on the business. Keep looking, if you look you will find what you are looking for.

There’s lots of jobs in HR, keep applying to big companies they usually make more if in big reputable companies. If you have a background in HR why not build your own staffing agency on the side? A nurse or caregiving staffing agency maybe? International or local.

If I were you, I will keep a day job in HR while building a business on the side until you can switch full time, and you can also buy a rental property or flip, you can do all 3, rental is less demanding than flipping.

If you are not making $50k as HR with MBA, maybe move to another state or change the field you are doing your HR on, try applying in hospitals or corporate ones.

Change your mindset instead of trying to jump into different areas and expect a 6 figure income to happen straight away. That takes years and time for one to get to that point. Trust me, behind the perfect picture of what you see or hear on social media about anyone being successful, FIRE, making 6 figures or have a great portfolio, they worked their asses off, failed a few times, loss money and time, took years to hone their craft, or finally found their passion/groove/niche…Nothing is easy and success will not happen overnight just because you got your foot in the door or jump on a franchise/business, let alone an “existing business”, which no one would sell if they are doing well.

Get to know yourself cuz you are a little all over so many things…eg why do you want to go into house flipping? Have you studied Real Estates or RE investing? are you handy to do that? or you plan to use your money and hire contractors, which can get costly? Why are you considering Nursing school? Esp if you said your true interest is running a business? Why did you go into HR with an MBA? Why not Business Adminstration? or Business Operations? or Business Technology or Sales?

You need to research and pick an area you want to be in, see the career growth and sectors in terms of what the starting salary is and at what level one would get the 6 figure salary.

Financial Freedom takes time, planning, alot of sacrifices as well as failures before you reach it. But you need to also know what you want to do and what is enough (financially and mentally) in order to say, I have reached my FIRE point.

I got an MBA and did HR. Started at less than your making and worked my way up. Made good money but it was stressful and I was overworked. After working in that field for 12 years I ended up hating it and now work at a smaller company in operations. Love it. With an MBA you should have plenty of opportunity in different fields but you have to work your way up sometimes.

It doesn’t guarantee high income without experience.
