Hubby (primary breadwinner by FAR) unexpectedly lost his job Feb 1. Fortunately he found another one-he was out of work about 8 weeks.

We are still financially recovering from that, get home tonight to find out our air conditioner has died. We have a home warranty so it will be covered obce we can get someone out here to fix it.

Until then we HAVE to buy a portable air conditioner to keep our bulldogs alive-they will LITERALLY die in the heat. We were all excited about having a no spend June to help catch up from his unemployment.

Looks like no spend June will be to make up for this instead. Dear goodness…

This happened to a friend. They bought a window unit from Home Depot. Used it for a few months and returned it. I wish y’all the best!

If you have an Ollie’s store, check there. They had quite a few portable ACs. Usually their prices are lower compared to other stores, but I would double check that.

Yup it never fails, just when you think you almost over that hump, boom another shows up. If you could sell yours for the parts or to be refurbished you can get some of the cost for the next one n if you find a used one perhaps same shop you sell the old one might have used refurbished for less money maybe work out a deal with the shop. It’s worth looking at.

A while back I did that with two acs that I had stored hoping to fix one day and I got myself a used refurbished washing machine with a lil cash. five years later machine is still going.

Sorry to hear 🙁 Can you possibly buy a used one, to save money? Maybe re-sell yours once youre done to recoup some of the cost? Or even ask your friends on Facebook if anyone has one you could borrow temporarily? Good luck….

Mine has an undetectable leak that has to be recharged every 1 1/2 to 2 years now at a cost of $300 at least.

We just wiped out our savings. Sewer backed up and needed replaced. Plus my husband’s company merged and all his stocks vested so we looked like we were rich and had to pay 39k in taxes. So yeah our savings is gone except for a very small 13k in an account we cannot touch easily.

                      It stinks.

Big time. I am still bummed about it. But. We were blessed to have the money to pay all of that nonsense and we are working on paying the house off early and we can save again. One breath at a time. I would definitely try to find used to offset the costs if you can.

                      Good luck.

Sometimes the poo hits the fan all at once.
